Claire Denis will receive the Carrosse d'Or during the opening ceremony of the 58th Directors' Fortnight, which takes place from May 13 to 23 as part of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. The SRF presents this award to filmmakers who distinguish themselves through pioneering spirit, daring, and rigorous direction. Denis made her Cannes debut in 1988 with *Chocolat* and won the Grand Prix in 2022 with *Stars at Noon*, while that same year she won the Silver Bear for Best Director in Berlin for *Both Sides of the Blade*. Her latest film, *The Fence*, will be released in French cinemas on April 8.
